Fit Guide
The Perfect Fit: Shirts

From collar to hem & everything in-between, a perfectly fitted shirt should look neat, refined, and always comfortable.
Collar
Correct fit
A simple, straightforward rule of thumb—not too tight, not too loose. A properly fitting collar should never feel constrained. To ensure you have the perfect fit, you should be able to comfortably slide a finger between the collar and your neck.
What to avoid
A collar that is too tight will feel uncomfortable and constricting, while a collar that is too loose will appear messy and fail to complement a tie neatly.
Body Fit
Correct fit
The perfect fit will allow you to move freely without losing its tailored aesthetic. It will be comfortable yet with a defined silhouette, and a clean, smooth placket with no button tension.
What to avoid
A shirt that is too short will feel restrictive, come untucked easily, and limit movement, while a shirt that is too long will create excess fabric that bunches up in the trousers.
Shoulder Fit
Correct fit
A shoulder fits properly when the seam falls naturally along the edge of your shoulder. A size that's too small will have the seam on top of the shoulder, while too big and it will hang over the arm.
What to avoid
Sleeves that are too small will sit high on the shoulder and restrict movement, while sleeves that are too large will cause the shoulder seam to hang down, creating a misshaped and oversized appearance.
Shirt Length
Correct fit
Formal shirts should be long enough to almost cover the entire seat and crotch, making them ideal for neatly tucking in and staying tucked in. Casual shirts should cut off just above the pocket, giving off a more relaxed appeal.
What to avoid
If the hem of the jacket is sitting on top of the butt, it's too short. If it falls past the bottom entirely, longer than the arms, it's too long.
Casual Shirts Length

When going casual, you want the option of being able to untuck. So go for a shirt with a shorter length and a hem that’s not cut so high along the sides for an overall more laid-back appeal.
Sleeve Length
Correct fit
The perfect sleeve length will have the cuff falling where the thumb meets the wrist. The ideal fit should be just snug enough to comfortably allow one finger to fit.
What to avoid
Sleeves that are too short will expose too much wrist and may disappear beneath a suit jacket, while sleeves that are too long will extend onto the hand, creating a messy and untailored appearance.
Sleeve Fit
Correct fit
The upper arm should be slim, but just spacious enough to allow comfortable movement and avoid excessive tension at the elbow. The forearm should feel snug, not tight, and should not recede up the arm when the elbow is bent.
What to avoid
A sleeve that is too small will feel tight when you bend your arm, while a sleeve that is too large will look baggy and sit poorly under a jacket.
